Two Dallas area individuals were arrested by Shelby County Sheriff’s Officers earlier this week and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, and Theft of a Firearm.

Sheriff Willis Blackwell 35-year old Wesley Lawrence of Carrollton and 24-year old Kathleen Edwards of Dallas were taken into custody as his office was attempting to serve a felony arrest warrant at a residence off Hwy. 96 North of Center on Wednesday.

Sheriff Blackwell said the duo pulled into the driveway and after they spoke with Patrol Sgt. Derek Barbee, and Investigators Kevin Windham and D.J. Dickerson, probable cause to search the vehicle uncovered approximately 9 grams of alleged met amphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, Valium, hydrocodone and a stolen firearm.
