Monster gator taken in Lake Sam Rayburn subdivision (picture included)

The internet is abuzz with pictures of the monster alligator that was shot and killed behind a house in a Lake Sam Rayburn subdivision.

KJAS radio in Jasper posted the pictures online and they say the 13 foot, 1,000 pound male alligator was put down by Game Warden Morgan Inman Tuesday afternoon after it was spotted out of the water in a wooded area behind houses in Rayburn Country.

Warden Inman determined the creature to be too large and too dangerous to try and apprehend for relocation.

The gator is suspected in the disappearance of several dogs and cats in that area of Lake Sam Rayburn.

The body of the gator was picked up by Harlan "Bigfoot" Hatcher from the TV show, "Swamp People".
