On Friday and Saturday, October 31st and November 1st, the Center
Varsity Tennis Team traveled to Willis, TX. to compete in the Region 3-AAAA
Championship.
   The Riders received a bye in the quarterfinals as the #1 seed in the
tournament and would compete against the winner of Taylor and China Spring.
   The Riders faced Taylor in the semifinals and after many close doubles
matches that could have gone either way, the Riders were up 6-1 after
doubles. The Riders would only need 4 wins out of the remaining 12 singles
matches to capture the victory.
   Center won 4 of the first 5 singles matches to come off the court which
sealed the win and sent them for a bid at the region title.
   The Regional Championship matches would be a repeat of the Area
Championship against Van.
   The Riders would start up 4-3 after doubles and sweep 6 boys singles
giving the Riders the Region Championship 10-5 over Van.
Center is now one of the top 4 tennis teams in the State in Class 4A. They
will compete in the State Semifinals on Thursday, November 6th at 8 AM against
Abilene Wylie at Texas A&M.
