Search continues for Timpson bank robbers

The search continues for two black males involved in the armed robbery of Austin Bank in Timpson last Friday afternoon.

One of the subjects was carrying a shotgun when they entered the bank around 4 p.m.

It’s reported the duo got some $360 of a customer’s money that was conducting business, before going to another window demanding cash, with the teller reportedly giving the men approximately $2,000.

The two subjects left the bank in a white, small four-door early model car traveling on U.S. 59 in an unknown direction of travel.

They were both wearing toboggans and sunglasses, and there were no injuries during the incident.

The FBI, Texas Rangers and Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the bank robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at 936-598-5600, or the Texas Department of Public Safety in Lufkin at 936-699-7340.
