UPDATE: Armed robbers make off with approximately $2,000 at Austin Bank-Timpson

Law enforcement are looking for two black male subjects that entered Austin Bank in Timpson, armed and demanded money around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.

In a press release from Trooper David Hendry of the Texas Department of Public Safety, one of the subjects was armed with at least one firearm, which is believed to be a shotgun.

Timpson Police Chief Kent Graham said the duo got approximately $360 of a customer’s money that was conducting business from one teller window, before going to another widow demanding cash. It’s reported the teller gave the men approximately $2,000.

The two subjects then left the bank traveling on U.S. 59 in an unknown direction of travel.

The subjects were reportedly driving either a white four door, early 2000 model Ford Taurus, or possibly a Buick, with a dealer (paper) tag on the back.

The subjects are described as two black males, with one of the men reported as wearing a dark hooded shirt and a brown toboggan. The second was reported to be wearing a white shirt with black writing and wearing a white toboggan.

The bank robbery is currently being investigated by the Texas Rangers, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.

Trooper Hendry said anyone with any information is asked to contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at 936-598-5600, or the Texas Department of Public Safety in Lufkin, 936-699-7340.
