Austin Bank-Timpson robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon

The Austin Bank-Timpson branch was the sight of an armed robbery around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. According to Pct. 5 Constable Stanley Burgay, two black males entered the bank, armed with a shotgun and demaned cash.

 

Burgay said the subjects were driving a small white unknown make car, and didn't say in what direction of travel they left the scene in.

 

He wasn't sure on the amount of cash taken. He added no one was injured in the incident.

 

Timpson Police, along with Shelby County Sheriff's Department law enforcement were on the scene and locked downed the bank.
