Several local marching bands will be taking part in the Texas State Military Marching Contest to be held Saturday in Nacogdoches at SFA's Homer Bryce Stadium.

The event is sponsored by the National Association of Military Marching Bands.

The first 2A band to march will be the West Sabine band at 1 p.m., followed by the San Augustine band at 1:15 p.m., and the Timpson band will take the field at 2 p.m.

The 3A bands start at 2:30 p.m., with Hemphill to march at 3 p.m.

In Class 4A, Carthage marches at 5:15 p.m., and the Center Roughrider Band is scheduled to march at 5:30 p.m.

The 5A bands will start at 7:15 p.m., and the awards ceremony will be held at 8:30 p.m.
