Child receives multiple dog bites as result of attack in Timpson Wednesday

A Timpson youngster is in Dallas Children’s Hospital after suffering dog bites following an attack Wednesday evening at a Timpson residence.

 

In a press release, Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell says his office received a call from East Texas Medical Center in Carthage regarding a small child had been bitten by a pit bull dog.

 

The 3-year old was taken to the ER by a private vehicle.

 

Sheriff Blackwell said Investigator Kevin Windham arrived at ETMC around 7:30 p.m. and found the male child with multiple injuries.

 

The youngster was life flighted to Dallas Children’s Hospital.

 

The dog was picked up by authorities and placed in quarantine in accordance with state law.

 

The incident is currently under criminal investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Child Abuse Investigator Chad Brown.
