Tenaha ISD will stay in house with baseball construction manager, field to be ready April 1

The Tenaha ISD has decided to stay in-house to appoint a construction manager to oversee the building of a baseball field for the school’s relatively new program.

Superintendent Scott Tyner was appointed by the board of trustees during their meeting Monday to head-up the project.

Tyner said the district just couldn’t design and develop the project using a bidding process for each phase, so they’ve decided to take it over themselves and get the job done for what the district wants at the best price.

Tyner said he has contacted Gene Mims Builders in Shreveport and they will begin work very soon in hopes of having a field ready for Tiger baseball by April 1.

The district’s high school baseball program had not played a home game in three seasons due to no field.
