The average price for a gallon of regular gas statewide is averaging $3.01 a gallon, that's down a dime in the past week, according to gasbuddy.com.

In Louisiana, a gallon’s averaging $3.03, down eight cents in a week.

Nationally, the average is $3.18, which is nine cents less than last week, and 15 cents less from the same time a year ago.

Here at home, checking prices this morning in Center, the lowest we found was $3.04 at Wal-Mart, down eight cents in the past week.
