Hadnot enters not guilty plea in supplying Wright drugs that proved fatal

The Jasper man accused of supplying the drugs that led to the death of Alfred Wright last November made his first court appearance last Thursday and entered a not guilty plea in Beaumont Federal Court.

Shane Dwayne Hadnot has also been indicted on two new counts, which has doubled his indictment count to four, and doubles his prison time if convicted.

Hadnot pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance resulting in death, and two counts of distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death.

An investigation revealed Hadnot was selling cocaine and other illegal narcotics to Wright—whose body was found in Sabine County after an extensive search.
