Looks like a wet, stormy weekend instore for the region; we could receive around 3 inches of rain or more

It’s shaping up to be a wet weekend into early next week across deep East Texas, as the National Weather Service is saying showers and strong to severe thunderstorms will develop and spread across the region late tonight through early Tuesday.

An upper level storm system will move over a frontal system that will become stationary late Saturday then lift back northeast as a warm front during the day Sunday.

Another upper trough will return a cold front across the area Monday night into early Tuesday.

The weather service is saying high and possibly damaging winds, large hail and deadly lightning will be accompanied by a chance of very heavy rainfall and flooding.

Rainfall amounts will range from 1 to 3 inches.
