DeSoto Parish taking proactive approach with possible Ebola patients

One local entity has instructed their emergency personnel to ask more questions when coming in contact with someone that shows signs of the Ebola virus.

DeSoto Parish Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle, who is also director of the parish’s Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, says he doesn’t want to alarm anyone, but DeSoto Parish is trying to stay as vigilant as possible.

He said the 911 call center along with other law enforcement and EMS dispatchers will ask questions as to areas of travel and symptoms since people from all over the world pass through the parish every day.
