Cold front passage brings with it reports of storm damage, electrical outages

The cold front passage that quickly raced through last night left some reported damage to parts of the area.

Both Panola and Nacogdoches Counties had some thunderstorm damage, primarily trees and tree limbs blown down from straight-line winds of some 60 mph. No major damage in Shelby and San Augustine County.

The National Weather Service did issue a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the northern half of the area at 9:15 to 10:15, and another for the southern portion around 10:30 to 11:30.

There were some electrical outages reported by SWEPCO and Deep East Texas. No reported outages from SWEPCO at this time in Shelby County, and DETEC says most of their customers should be back on, other than maybe some areas of Nacogdoches County.

This morning, the front has cleared the area, and we're forecast to have a wonderful bout of fall weather the next couple of days with lows tonight in the mid 40s, and highs in the mid 70s. A warm up start Sunday and our next chance of rain returns Sunday night into Monday.
