A Center man lost his life in a single-vehicle accident Sunday morning.

According to DPS Communications in Lufkin, 78-year old Charles Ray Davis of the Neuville Community was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS Trooper Jade Lavergne’s report says Davis was southbound on FM 417, some eight miles south of Center in a Dodge Ram half-ton pickup, when he left the roadway for unknown reason, struck a culvert and overturned just before 8 a.m.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene by JP Pct. 1 Maxie Eaves.

Mangum Funeral Home is in charge of service for Charles Ray Davis at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Neuville Baptist Church.
