Grass, brush fires could increase with drier conditions, more outdoor activity, caution urged

A lack of rain received in the past couple of weeks, coupled with a change in seasons, and more folks working outdoors in their yard and other property with the cooler temperatures, don't let your guard down by allowing a brush fire get out of control.

Checking with some of the local fire departments yesterday there's been some responses to some grass fires situations, but fortunately, that number has been kept at a minimum.

Firemen urge you to burn with caution and keep a good water source nearby.

Not much of a chance of rain at all for the remainder of the week heading into early next week, so use caution.

There have been no burn warnings issued for the area.
