The U.S. Air Force Band of the West “Top Flight” will be performing in San Augustine this evening.

Tonight’s show will be at the San Augustine High School Football Field starting at 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Top Flight is a six member rock group, and among the members is Technical Sgt. Chad Newman, a percussionist who happens to be a 1989 graduate of San Augustine High School.

Sgt. Newman will be retiring from the Air Force in February.

The band is based out of Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Events today in San Augustine begin with a Fall Festival from noon to 5 p.m. sponsored by the school district. There will be face painting, along with games and prizes behind the San Augustine Gym.
