If you travel U.S. Hwy. 59 to Nacogdoches, beware of road work going on this week. A roadway milling operation is under way between Nacogdoches and Garrison. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announces planned closures on the project.

According to TxDOT, the contractor, Drewery Construction of Nacogdoches, will conduct mill and inlay and base repairs on sections of the road before applying a seal coat and new striping. Starting Thurs., Sept. 18, motorists can expect various ramp closures daily at the Business 59/U.S. 259 and U.S. 59 interchange.

The work continues on September 19th and 22nd.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention when traveling through this work zone. Look for message boards and other traffic control devices in place to provide additional advanced warning of the project.
