Friday night’s thunderstorm activity that moved into the area from the southwest, brought with it a number of electrical power outages. Deep East Texas Electric Co-op’s Brittney Johnson reports approximately 1,000 scattered outages in Shelby County and 200 in Nacogdoches County occurred. She said in addition, the co-op had three broken poles in Hemphill that affected some 200 members. The power outage, as well as the dangerous lightning affected the resuming of the Center-Garrison football game at Roughrider Stadium, as the game was called. The weather was also responsible for games being cancelled in Tenaha and Timpson.
