This is National Child Passenger Safety Week, and the observance provides an opportunity for parents to make sure they're transporting their children safely. It's reported 3 out of 4 car seats are not used correctly.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service County Extension Agent Jheri-Lynn Smith says the DPS in Nacogdoches is offering a free car seat check-up from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday at the Brookshire Brothers on South Street in Nacogdoches.

She added car seats will be provided at no charge to those that stop by the event whose seat may be inproper, or to those that can't afford a proper child seat.
