Rep. Paddie addresses local organizations during stop in Center Wednesday, says state has reaped oil & gas revenues

State Rep. Chris Paddie was in Center yesterday for a joint luncheon with the Center Noon Lions Club, Center Rotary Club and Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. He discussed with Dist. 9 constituents some issues the state legislature will be addressing when it convenes in January for its biennial session.

Among those challenges includes transportation, education and water. Rep. Paddie said "Fortunately Texas is in good shape financially thanks to the oil and gas industry doing so well.

"We do have money, the questions are how do we spend efficiently and prudently on the services and priorities of this state, and the priorities my constituents have."

He said hearing from the folks at home and aligning to those needs are key.

"Most of the good ideas and solutions come from back home, not in Austin. He said he wanted to hear from the people he represents, that he was in line with their values and what concerns they have.

Rep. Paddie's was elected in 2013, and his house district includes Shelby, Sabine, Cass, Harrison, Marion and Panola counties.
