Feds conduct human smuggling raids in Nacogdoches Tuesday

Four individuals were arrested by Federal authorities with the Department of Homeland Security in Nacogdoches yesterday following a raid connected to human smuggling.

Search warrants were executed in six different locations and authorities located several individuals they’re trying to determine if they were smuggled across the border.

Two were principal associates of an on-going investigation.

The raid began at 7 a.m. Tuesday with three of the locations on County Road 521, County Road 250 and Old Lufkin Road in Nacogdoches County.

Federal officials say the raid was part of Operation Coyote, which is an attempt to crack down on human smuggling.

Also seized was AK-47s, M-4s, pistols and thousands of dollars in cash.
