Jasper Walmart latest hit by late-night thieves, 17 computers taken

The Jasper Walmart has been the latest retail giants’ store hit be thieves, as a couple made off with 17 computers in a little over week's time.

Authorities have identified a man and woman from Beaumont in connection with the crime. The Jasper Police Department say store security cameras caught the first crime as it happened shortly after midnight on Saturday, Aug. 30.

The report says the man and woman loaded the computers into a shopping cart and concealed them with other merchandise on top. The duo then went to the general merchandise side of the store and forcefully opened up a set of doors, and then loaded the stolen merchandise into a care and left.

The couple returned to the store shortly after midnight last Thursday and walked out with thirteen more.

A similar crime occurred at the Carthage store last month.
