Mangum Funeral Home announces service for 93-year old A.C. “Jake” Jacobs of Huxley. Service will be at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Mangum Funeral Home, with military honors given by VFW Post #8904. There will be a graveside service and burial at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.

 

Taylor Funeral Home of Timpson announces service for Rev. Douglas Keifer McDonald of Timpson. He passed away Friday at his home. Service will be held at 11 a.m. this morning at Hi Way Tabernacle in Timpson, with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson. Rev. Douglas McDonald was the pastor of Hi Way Tabernacle, a businessman and former mayor of the City of Timpson. Among his survivors are wife, Sarah McDonald of Timpson; 3 sons, Douglas Roy McDonald of Overton, Jim McDonald of Timpson and Tim McDonald of Timpson; and aunt, Effie Edwards of Timpson.

 

Wyman Roberts Funeral Home of San Augustine announces service for 66-year old Luther Lavon Hudgins of Broaddus. He passed away Thursday at CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial in San Augustine. Service will be at 2 p.m. today at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with burial in the Pisgah Cemetery in San Augustine County. Among Luther Lavon Hudgins survivors are his wife, Juanell Hudgins of Broddus; daughter, Melissa Hudgins Taylor of Broaddus; brothers, Michael Lee Hudgins of Huntington and Paul William Hudgins of Lufkin; sisters, Kathie Forrest of Huntington and Donna Talley of Lufkin.

 

Wyman Roberts Funeral Home announces service for 81-year old Alvin Glen Burns. He passed away Saturday in San Augustine. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with burial in the Dickerson Cemetery in San Augustine County. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. this evening at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home. Among Alvin Glen Burns survivors are his daughters, Shirley Hightower of Bronson and Alice Kay Ramey of Woden; sons, Jerry Wayne Burns, Charles Burns, Glen Burns, and Richard Burns, all of San Augustine; brothers, Burbon “Punk” Burns of Broaddus, James Burns of San Augustine, and Jesse Burns of Palestine; sisters, Marie McGee of San Augustine, Octavia Belt of Alto, and Emma Lou Martin of San Augustine.

 

Wyman Roberts Funeral Home was in charge of service Sunday for 67-year old Billy Donice McElroy of San Augustine. He passed away Friday in San Augustine. Service was held at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with interment in the Saunders Cemetery in Denning, San Augusitne Couty. Among Billy Donice McElroy’s survivors are, wife, Clara McElroy of San Augustine; mother, Wilma Cleckley of San Augustine; children, Mark McElroy and Steven McElroy, both of Lufkin; and sister, Betty Byley of Bronson.

 

Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin announces the passing of 86-year old Quida Mae (Dent) Whiteside of Austin. She passed away Aug. 27 in Austin. She grew up in Tenaha and Timpson, and was a retired teacher. Memorial Service was held Aug. 29 in Austin. Among Quida Mae (Dent) Whiteside’s survivors are brothers, Roy Dent of Lake Murvaul, Troy Dent of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and Ted Dent of Nacogdoches. Four children, W. Robin Whiteside of Austin, Vikki Whiteside of California, Marti Willens of California, and Stan Whiteside of Puerto Rico.
