A lot of homes and businesses in the area were left without electrical power for around 30 minutes Thursday afternoon as SWEPCO experienced an outage.
According to SWEPCO over 3,200 meter customers in Shelby County were out at one time during the 3 o’clock hour.
Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative’s Brittney Johnson tells us customers in Shelby, San Augustine, Sabine and Nacogdoches Counties were out simultaneously. She said the service areas powered by the Center, Center South, Hilltop, Holly, San Augustine, Bronson, Black Ankle, Pendleton, Hemphill, Six Mile, Hurstown and Huxley substations experienced the brief outage.
Just before 3:30 p.m., she said everyone should have had their power restored.
