The Texas Education Agency recently recognized Excelsior ISD as a High Performing Reward School and a High Progress Reward School. Excelsior has been designated as a Title 1, Part A Reward School (in the past this recognition was referred to as Distinguished School). High Performing Rewards Schools are those Title 1 schools with distinctions based on math and reading performance. High Progress Rewards Schools are those in the top 25 percent in annual improvement or top 25 percent of those demonstrating the ability to close performance gaps.
