TxDOT choses Cheryl Flood as Lufkin District's new engineer

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has picked Cheryl Flood, as the new chief engineer to lead its Lufkin District. She replaces Dennis Cooley, who in July was appointed as Tyler District Engineer. Cheryl becomes the first female district engineer in Lufkin and one of only a few in department history. As District Engineer, Ms. Flood will oversee the planning, designing, building, operation and maintenance of the state transportation system for the nine-county Lufkin District. She has served as the Lufkin District's Director of Transportation Planning and Development (TP&D) since 2003.
