Nacogdoches S.O. uncovers fraudulent ID card manufacturer, arrest made

Nacogdoches Sheriff’s Department arrested an illegal alien last week for the fraudulent production of identification cards.

 

Sheriff Jason Bridges said in a press release that 45-year old Andres Marrero was taken into custody after two search warrants were executed. He said an ongoing investigation into fraudulent identifications cards led investigators to identify the main target.

 

Sheriff Bridges said his office had received complaints about fraudulent ID cards being made and had recovered some of them over the last several months. A deal was set up to purchase a set of the cards by an undercover deputy. Electronic devices were recovered during the searches, including computers, printers, hard drives, printing emblems, fake ID cards and other items.

 

Among the items manufactured were fake social security cards, residential alien cards, Mexico ID cards, Texas ID cards and Texas driver’s licenses.

 

The suspect, confessed to manufacturing at least 200 fraudulent ID cards over the last eight months.

 

Sheriff Bridges said more arrests are pending, and the operation is shut-down.
