In San Augustine County Justice Precinct 4 there will be an election for the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only as part of the Nov. 4 ballot.

Election Administrator Deborah Woods says the commissioners' court agreed to call the election after a petition was turned into her office containing over the required 265 signatures needed.

Ms. Woods said JP Pct. 4 runs from the courthouse square to the Chinquapin-Hebron area south to Lake Sam Rayburn.

A similar election was held last November in San Augustine County Justice Precinct 3 and failed.
