City of San Augustine awards bid for street resurfacing

The City of San Augustine awarded the bid for resurfacing work on over 30 city streets at their meeting Monday night. City Manager Bruce Milstead said Drewery Construction of Nacogdoches' bid was $975,000, with the project funded through Ike 2.2 grant money. More good new, is that the bid comes in under what was allocated.

Milstead says  there could be additional streets included in the work, or go to help purchase needed equipment.

In addition, Ike money will be funding the replacement of some 30 electrical poles, as well as a half-million in repairs to the City of San Augustine's sewer plant--both projects expected to get started before the end-of-the year.

Milstead also added TxDOT is suppose to go out for bids in September on the complete overhaul project of the traffic circle.
