"Texas Highways" tabs Nacogdoches at #8 in state's top destinations

Nacogdoches has made “Texas Highways” magazine’s “Top 40 Travel Destinations” list, coming in at number 8.

 

The City of Nacogdoches beat out travel destinations such as New Braunfels, Palo Duro Canyon, Corpus Christi, Galveston, Padre Island, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth. According to a Web-based story, sites such as Millard’s Crossing Historical Village and the Sterne-Hoya House Museum and Library were important draws, along with antique, restaurants and the expansive educational gardens at Stephen F. Austin State University.

 

Also, “Texas Highways” said Tonkawa Springs, near Garrison, is one of the “best natural swimming holes in Texas”.
