The Texas (Center) state champs came up short in their semi-final appearance at the Dixie Boys World Series against Mississippi, losing 9-7. Mississippi jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second inning, and fought off a comeback by Center.
Texas cut the lead to 7-3 in the third, and were within two runs in the fourth when Dalton Alexander got a three-run homer to make it an 8-6 game. However, Mississippi added a run in the fifth, and got good pitching in the final two innings to secure the win.
Congratulations to the Texas (Center) Dixie Boys on a great run through the tournament and World Series.
This team went undefeated three-straight years in state tournament play.
Mississippi will advance to the championship round to play the winner of Bossier City and North Carolina.
