Harding takes over duties as Shelby County Outreach Ministries' executive director

Shelby County Outreach Ministries has a new leader, as San Augustine native Sherry Harding began her duties yesterday as the organizations executive director.

Ms. Harding is an ordained non-denominational minister and comes to Shelby County Outreach Ministries after spending 23-years with the San Augustine ISD, serving most recently as administrative secretary.

She said she’s very excited and humbled for the opportunity, and is blessed to be able to continue her ministry full-time with such a wonderful Christian-based organization.

Ms. Harding also has a jail ministry in San Augustine County.

She’s a 1987 graduate of San Augustine High School, and attends Patroon Baptist Church. Ms. Harding and her husband Jeffrey, have four children and one grandchild.

She assumes leadership of Shelby County Outreach Ministries’ programs, including the nutrition sites in Shelby and San Augustine Counties, Meals on Wheels, Helping Hands Ministries, Unique Boutique and a food pantry.

The Shelby County Outreach Ministries has been searching for a full-time executive director since the death of Pam White on April 29.
