Traffic on U.S. Hwy. 96 south at Loop 500 in Center was slowed Wednesday morning when an 18-wheeler had its load of oilfield equipment shift, breaking the holding chains, overturning the rig.

Center PD says the rig was driven by a Louisiana man, identified as 44-year old Donald Marler.

The report says Marler was driving northbound on Hwy. 96 , when he attempted to make a right turn onto Loop 500 east, when the incident occurred.

Marler was not cited, and no injuries were reported.

Eastbound traffic on Loop 500 was stopped as the tractor and trailer, along with the equipment was cleared.
