A single vehicle accident last night near Timpson has taken the life of a Tenaha woman.

DPS communications in Lufkin says that 22-year old Amanda Kay Haney was the lone occupant of a 2004 Mazada traveling on FM 2667 (the Lake Timpson Road) around 11:20 p.m., when she left the roadway for unknown reason and struck a tree.

DPS Trooper Jordan Eastridge was the investigating officer and reports Ms. Haney was not wearing a seat belt.

Shelby County Justice of the Peace Pct. 5 Jim Powers pronounced Amanda Kay Haney deceased at the scene.

The accident continues under investigation.
