Shelby County Commissioners' Court to finalize sale of Parker Brother's building at today's meeting

When the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court meets at 9:30 this morning, they’ll formally accept the bid on the old Parker Brother’s Motor Company building in downtown Center.

County Judge Rick Campbell told me Friday the commissioners’ court accepted the bid of $25,000 back in November from Tony and Traci Willoughby, this will finalize the process.

He said the county had ownership of the building for several years, with plans to possibly make it a county office building, which never materialized due to funding for renovation.

Judge Campbell added he was glad to see the Willoughby’s take ownership of the building, and was ready to see it brought back to use.

Ms. Willoughby advised she has plans to move her retail clothing store, The Balcony to the building, and rent out the remainder.

Commissioners will also accept or reject bids on a 2000 720 road grader for Pct. 2.
