The rainy weather we’ve had over the past couple of months has no doubt made the grass grow faster and thicker. That and just plain not doing upkeep on your property has the Town of Logansport leaders attempting to get the attention of property owners.
Mayor Katherine Freeman tells us she’s having the town’s police department issue citations if citizens don’t heed the warning. On the town’s website, the Town Ordinance reads, “The maintenance of grass, weeds or noxious growth within the Town of Logansport at a height in excess of 17 inches above the ground is declared a menace to the Town and is prohibited.”
Mayor Freeman says the issue has gotten “horrible”, and something had to be done.
She noted fines will be issued within two weeks of the notice to those that choose not to obey the ordinance. The mayor said fines are $50.
