Shelby County Commissioners' Court expected to act on employee health insurance

Shelby County Commissioners' Court will be meeting at 9:30 this morning, and among the items for discussion and possible approval will be a request from George Simon with Tri-County Community Action to address the court requesting a Land Use Agreement renewal between Tri-County and Shelby County for storage building space, and permission to add additional buildings to the site of the former Shelby General Hospital.

In addition, commissioners will approve election judges; the purchase of two lawn mowers for the probation department; advertise for bids to sell a 2000 720 road grader for Pct. 2; and consider approval of Commissioner Pct. 2 Jimmy Lout's request to hire a full-time employee created by a vacancy.

Shelby County Commissioners will also likely take action on renewing health insurance for employees through the Texas Association of Counties. County Judge Administrative Assistant Deanne Sample said there's an almost six-percent increase for insurance, which is normal.
