The Center City Council has a couple of meetings scheduled for today, beginning at 4 with a preliminary Budget discussion, followed by the regular meeting at 5.

City Manager Chad Nehring says the Budget is still in draft form, with the presented Budget required for submission in early August.

Among action items at the regular meeting will be calling for a city council election for November 4. Positions up for election are Dist. 2, currently held by Jerry Lathan, and Dist. 4, Charles Rushing, as well as the two at-large positions that are held by Jim Forbes and Leigh Porterfield.

The council is also expected to authorize an Interlocal Agreement with SFA for an intern at the Windham Civic Center; and allocation of the city’s portion of the safety funds collected by the county from vehicle registration fees.
