Nacogdoches County farmer dies in one-vehicle accident

A Nacogdoches small business owner was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday.

DPS is saying 82-year old George Henry Millard, Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene approximately 14 miles west of Nacogdoches in Douglass.

He owned Millard Farms, and was a long-time vendor at the Nacogdoches Farmers Market.

The accident report says Millard was westbound on state Hwy. 21, entered a curve, left the roadway, struck a culvert then overturned, ejecting him from the pickup.

Millard was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.

An autopsy was ordered by Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Kerry Williamson.
