The Great East Texas Outdoor Fest Banquet will be held Friday, July 11, at the former Bistro building on the square in Hemphill. The event will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $45 each or $75 for couples. The event will include a steak dinner, live music, silent auction and door prizes. Tickets are available by calling any board member, or Roger Gay at 409-625-1101.This is the same group that put on the big outdoor fest back in March. It’s the intention of the group to make the next event bigger and better, and promote Toledo Bend as a vacation destination. The Great East Texas Outdoor Committee would like to raise money to eventually build a pavilion, boat ramp and park area so that fishing tournaments and events can be hosed on the Texas side of the lake. The next festival will be held March 6 & 7. Check out the website, getoutdoorsfest.com to find out more.
