Traffic stop nets $250,000 in Nacogdoches County

A traffic stop in Nacogdoches County Sunday night netted over a quarter-of-a-million in cash and less than two ounces of marijuana.

A press release says a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper stopped the two out-of-state men and arrested them on money laundering and drug charges. The men, a 40-year old from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a 42-year old from Chicago, remain in the Nacogdoches County Jail.

The report says the stop of the 2014 Buick occurred on U.S. 259 north of Nacogdoches, as the men were speeding around 6 p.m. During the interview, the driver and passenger gave conflicting information and displayed indicators of criminal behavior. An odor of marijuana was also detected.

The men were reportedly traveling from Milwaukee to Houston.
