At their meeting Wednesday afternoon, the Center ISD Board of Trustees voted to not renew the contract with the law firm that represented the school district in collecting delinquent taxes and file appeals.

The firm of Calme, Linebarger & Pefia had been employed by Center ISD for 18 years. Superintendent Dr. James Hockenberry noted the firm did not want to file an appeal on behalf of the district, which he said led him to suggest to the board to seek the services of another firm.
