Newton County authorities have arrested a second person of interest for the robbery and assault incident that took place at Sabine State Bank in Burkeville last week.

Twenty-one year old Xavier Clark was arrested Wednesday morning near Houston. Arrested last weekend was 20-year old Michael Byerly, who turned himself in to authorities.

The Sabine State Bank branch in Burkeville was robbed Wednesday, June 25, and bank manager Trudy Woods was stabbed, receiving a punctured lung. She’s reported to be recovering at a Houston hospital.
