Panola County rancher arrested for stealing cattle in Oklahoma

The Panola County Watchman newspaper is reporting a man that was supposedly robbed of nearly $20,000 in casino winnings earlier this year has now been arrested in Oklahoma for allegedly stealing cattle.

The article says 30-year old Jacob Thompson, who owns a cattle company in Carthage was arrested for aggravated theft when he tried to purchase 400 head of cattle from Sulphur Springs Livestock Auction with a bad check for more than $300,000.

In January, Thompson was supposedly robbed in his driveway at gunpoint of winnings by two unknown men after a night at the Horseshow Casino in Bossier City. No suspects were ever found and police reportedly soon questioned discrepancies in Thompson’s story.

The Watchman is also saying he was arrested in January this year in Red River Parish when he received $30,000 worth of cattle at auction there and never paid for them.
