City hopes to get OK to rescind boil water notice this morning, Tyson processing schedule change

The boil water notice is still in effect for the city of Center—city wide. Word should be given sometime this morning or whether it’s OK for City of Center residents to resume the regular consumption of water as samples are going through testing at the lab. City Manager Chad Nehring tells us it’s an 18-hour process, and city staff was reporting good chlorine residuals for disinfections throughout the water system yesterday afternoon. Nehring said results should be back around 8 this morning, and if the all-clear is given, you’ll be advised by the city through a call out by phone, or they’ll advise us to relay the information. The City of Center issued a boil water notice Wednesday night when workers had to drain the 18 inch water main that had to be repaired due to a leak.

Tyson Processing Plant in Center has some work changes for today, Friday. The Day Shift Evis, Cut-up and Labeling will start 2 hours late today, Friday. The Night Shift will start at normal time, today, Friday.
