Funeral Notices: 6/18/14

Watson & Sons Funeral Home announces service for 85-year old Lonnie “L.J.” Chance, Jr. of Center. He passed away Monday at his residence. He retired from the Houston Police Department after more than 22-year of service, and came home where he retired as Chief Deputy of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department after 11 years of service. He was currently serving as Community Service Coordinator for both Shelby and Panola Counties. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 today at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Service will be held at 1 Thursday at First Baptist Church in Center, with interment at Mt Herman Cemetery, Shelby County. Among Lonnie Chance’s, Jr.’s survivors are his sons, Gary Chance of Magnolia and Wendell Chance of Center; and sister, Fleta Warr Hill of Friendswood.

 

Garrison Funeral Home announces service for 73-year old James “PA” Richard Stokes of Garrison. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 this morning at Garrison Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 12 noon at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Garrison.

 

Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors of Nacogdoches announces service for 71-year old Mrs. Mary Grace Greer. Service will be at 2 this afternoon at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, with interment at Cushing Cemetery in Cushing.
