Nacogdoches business owner, Center native arrested in dispute

A Nacogdoches business owner and Center native, was arrested by Nacogdoches Police yesterday and charged with robbery, second degree felony.

According to an article in The Daily Sentinel, Nacogdoches Police say they were called to a disturbance on Commerce Street downtown, where a man said that 59-year old William Charles “Willie” Hudson, the owner of Nacogdoches Hardware and Rental, had struck him several times because of a dispute over parking.

Hudson was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail and charged with robbery for taking the man’s keys. The man was not hurt in the incident.

Hudson has reportedly been involved in an ongoing dispute with neighboring businesses and others over parking near his downtown store and loading dock, and a supposed non-operational camera in downtown Nacogdoches, which Hudson says is an invasion of privacy.

Hudson has long ties to the hardware business in Center and east Texas.
