The Texas Transportation Plan 2040 will define the Texas Department of Transportation’s long-range goals for all transportation modes – roadways, transit, pedestrian, bicycle and freight.

The plan will also address the state’s aging infrastructure and offer solutions.

TxDOT began hosting public meetings this week across the state inviting input from citizens to best align available resources with areas of need.

A public meeting will be held tonight in Lufkin. Kathi White is with the Lufkin TxDOT office. She says input will be received from citizens about areas of concern in their areas--especially along the I-69 corridor.

Tonight’s public meeting is from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Lufkin TxDOT office at 1805 North Timberland Drive.
