Thefts solved, suspects wanted in other

Another theft has been solved in Shelby County. Sheriff Willis Blackwell says two men have been arrested and charged with the theft of cattle panels from a Joaquin area location.

 

According to a press release, 30-year old James Cody Fleming of Shelbyville and 61-year old James Melvin Fleming of Timpson, have both been charged with Theft, Felony 3, for cutting a fence line and taking cattle panels from a Larry Kay's pasture on County Road 3252 reported on May 5.

 

Sheriff Blackwell says Investigators DJ Dickerson and Kevin Windham recovered 10 of the panels in Garrison and four others in Timpson, which the suspects had sold. James Cody Fleming was also charged with criminal mischief in the crime.

 

Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Maxie Eaves arraigned both men, setting James Cody Fleming bond at $8,000, and James Melvin Fleming's bond at $3,000.

 

Sheriff Blackwel says a third individual is also being sought for involvement, 32-year old Brandon Joe Loftin of Joaquin.

 

The sheriff added the investigation in ongoing, and there are other persons of interest.

Also, Loftin’s wanted in connection with another theft in Joaquin. He and 36-year old Bobby Pinion of Logansport are being sought for stealing a cargo trailer from Harrison County. Sheriff’s Dept. 

 

Investigator DJ Dickerson says he and Constable Pct. 3 Billy Hearnsberger responded to a disturbance call at 2440 CR 3182 last Friday, and arrived to find that the home had been broken into, and three male subjects on the back side of the home filing the VIN number off a cargo trailer, as well as other alterations to the trailer.

 

One of the subjects ran from scene, which’s been identified as Loftin.

 

Arrested was James Cody Fleming, who was wanted for Violation of Probation. The other suspect is 36-year old Bobby Pinion of Logansport.

 

It’s reported the trailer was taken two weeks ago from a framing contractor. With the help of the East Texas Auto Theft Taskforce, the owner of the trailer was ID’ed as Justin Fogle, who said the value of the trailer and tools, which have not been located, was around $19,000.

 

Investigator Dickerson said his department is working with Harrison County Sheriff’s Department on the investigation.
